Yorkshire Wolds Riding Club: Health and Safety Policy Statement
Introduction:
As the primary organizer, Yorkshire Wolds Riding Club assumes total responsibility for the health and safety of its participants and visitors. Each event hosted by the club strictly adheres to current Health and Safety legislation. All parties involved in managing the event premises are charged with the following duties:
• Implementing every feasible measure to protect the well-being and safety of all attendees.
• Acting with personal responsibility to prevent risk to themselves or others.
• Maintaining clear, safe, and unobstructed entry and exit points throughout the site.
Officials and Stewards:
All designated officials receive thorough briefings to ensure they operate without creating hazards and maintain effective supervision over their assigned locations.
Spectators:
We have implemented all practical and necessary precautions to guarantee a secure environment for every guest attending our events.
Competitors:
Participants must maintain full control of their horses at all times and behave in a manner that ensures the safety of everyone on-site.
Contractors:
Service providers are expected to follow industry best practices and comply with all relevant legal health and safety standards to protect both their staff and the general public.
Trade Stands:
Exhibitors are solely accountable for the structural integrity and safety of their exhibits, ensuring their allocated space poses no threat to staff or nearby individuals.
Equine Safety:
Horses are unpredictable and can be easily startled. We kindly ask the public to stay away from designated horse lanes and avoiding any sudden movements or noise that might cause alarm.
Dogs:
Pet owners must keep dogs on a short lead and under constant, close supervision.
Emergency Procedures:
• Clear access for emergency services must be maintained across the entire site; obstructing emergency routes is strictly prohibited.
• If medical assistance is required, please notify an official immediately or dial 999.
• All injuries or significant near-misses must be reported to the Event Organizer to ensure proper support and documentation.
